I like to believe that my word was accepted because wizards control everything rather than the fact that apparently, squibs are also mini explosives.
Make love, not horcruxes.
Voldemort, maaaan, chill out. Make love, not horcruxes. Look at Harry Potter over there — he gets Cho, Ginny, all these ladies. You, you’re stuck with Wormtail. I think you need to get your priorities straight. Found on Etsy.
Seamus/Dean is a lot more interesting than Harry/Ginny.

On a scale of 1 to Lord Voldemort, how awkward are your hugs?

Harry Potter didn’t really play a big role in my childhood, but it did play a large role in my young adult life. Reading all these books and watching all these movies…it was so worth it. I don’t know, to be able to feel so many emotions from this story is just…amazing. It’s finally done. Seven books read, eight movies watched.
Mischief managed!
How To Make Your Own Makeshift Lapel Pin
Preface: I was looking for a Ravenclaw lapel pin because I love Ravenclaw and that would totally be the house that I get sorted into in the Harry Potter universe. Unfortunately, I could only find Gryffindor and Slytherin in stores and the Ravenclaw pins that I did find online were hella expensive, almost $10 without shipping and handling added. What the heezy? Thus, I figured, why not just make one? Quick, easy, and takes less than twenty minutes. That’s what she said.
Materials:
- An image of whatever you want to turn into a pin (in this case, I used the Ravenclaw house crest)
- Aluminum foil
- Cardboard
- Scissors
- Tape, or if you want some permanence, glue
- An old lapel pin or lapel pin backs, which you can probably get at craft stores like Michael’s
Instructions:
1. Cut out the image of what you want to turn into a lapel pin.
2. Place the cutout on top of the cardboard (don’t glue or tape yet) and cut a larger piece from the cardboard that borders the original image.
3. Take off the original image and wrap the cardboard piece in aluminum foil. Yeah, shininess!
4. Tape or glue the original image back onto the wrapped cardboard piece.
5. Turn over the cardboard piece and tape or glue it onto the front of the lapel pin.
6. Show off to all your friends.
There you go. Quick and easy. Now you have a shiny Ravenclaw (or whatever else you want) pin. I know that basically all I told you was to paste and image onto the front of a lapel pin, but hey, I did say that this was makeshift and it gets the job done. You can make so many variations of this, adding whatever else you want (i.e. ribbons and whatnot), so experiment!
Okay, there we go! Now go enjoy being a little bit more crafty.
I cannot be the only person who thinks that Scarlett Byrne (aka Pansy Parkinson from Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince onwards) looks a lot like Miranda Cosgrove.
